I suppose, in his thinking, all folks on disability are leeches. (Even war vets, since he doesn’t seem to distinguish.) Technically if you are on SSD, it’s insurance. SSI is an entitlement.

So is corporate welfare.

Don’t let an idiot like Romney, who has never done a hard day’s work in his life, get to you. The man is an ignorant ass and has to clue what reality is for the vast majority of Americans. He was doing lousy before this.

Think of it, a guy who claims to be a great business man can even manage his own campaign staff.

I practiced social security law for five years. The people I worked with, even those on SSI, hated being disabled. They very much wanted to work, but could not.

For what it’s worth, the vast majority of the 47% are working people. They pay no income tax because of tax breaks the republicans gave them to encourage them to work. Of course they still pay payroll taxes, state income tax, property tax, sales tax, etc. As does every American.

Thomas asks…

What’s wrong with affordable health insurance without a middle man?

We have affordable car insurance and the gov’t doesn’t get involved in that, do they?

Am I the only one who thinks a few of these industries (insurance, pharmaceutical) should be regulated?

Administrator answers:

Your question is much too logical to be taken seriously here.

There are numerous ways to reform healthcare. The German model uses private, for profit health insurers who are subject to government regulations that prohibit them from denying coverage bases on pre-existing conditions. So their system is more of a hybrid than other European single payer systems, ranging from this to the British system of socialized medicine where the doctors work for the government to the French system of private doctors but with a single payer system.
The big difference, or course, is that the United States has allowed the medical profession to become a for profit system. The free market zealots think this is just fine but the fact is that by allowing the profit motive into this basic human need they are ruining our economy.
Soon the portion of our incomes that the health care system demands of us will exceed our ability to pay and we will essentially be working in exchange for healthcare. Economic slavery anyone?

But consider this. If we should end up with a single payer system it will spell the end of our economy unless Obama can muster the courage and ammunition to stop the insane prices that the healthcare profession charges us for their services. A single payer system without removing these criminally high prices will create a Bubble that will dwaft even the housing bubble. Close your eyes and try to imagine just how raped and robbed we will be when every person in the country can get medical care that is subsidized by the government with the greedy sons of dogs in the healthcare business charging $235.00 for an aspirin.
And to the free maketers who claim that a single payer system with price controls won’t work, I remind them of Vlad Lenin. Vlad pulled a 38 caliber pistol from his pocket and put it to the head of a train conductor refusing to run the train. Vlad cocked the pistol and Mr. Conductor yelled, “All Aboard!” The trains ran on time and so will the appendix operations after a couple of well placed bullets.

Ken asks…

Why is mandatory health insurance a bad thing?

Like every month I hate paying that stupid car insurance bill, and I never get in a wreck, etc. But man if I did, I sure would be glad I had it. So do people just not want to be out of any money and wish to “take their chances” if you will? And how much will insurance cost on average?

Administrator answers:

I don’t have a job, and can’t get a job no matter what I do. I have no freaking money, and now they are forcing mandatory health insurance on me. There are millions of out of work people who simply can’t afford health insurance. THAT is why it’s a bad thing.

David asks…

An ilegal immigrant asked me to put his car under my name in case he’s ever stopped by police?

I know this person and he is a super Hardworking man. His crime, being here without papers. He asked me if I would consider putting his truck under my name in case the police stops him for whatever reason here here in arizona. He says, all I have to do is go pay (with his money) to get the car back but I won’t be in trouble, even if he is put in jail. Is that something I can do? What about the car insurance? What if he ever hurts somebody with his car?

Administrator answers:

Dont do it. If he gets caught, will not be able to supply a license because you need to be legal to obtain one. So when they arrest him and deport him, they will also pin you for accessory, aiding an illegal, or whatever laws they have for that kind of thing.

Jenny asks…

What is the purpose of a traffic bond card when you’ve been stopped and ticketed for speeding?

I’ve never had to use one before, but I’m asking this question on behalf of a friend who doesn’t speak very good English, so he wasn’t sure what the policeman said when he took his bond card.

If someone were stopped due to speeding(15 miles above limit), and they offered the police man their traffic bond card, what are the advantages and disadvanges? What is the card for? How will that affect their car insurance rates, if at all? And when will the card be returned? This is for someone 21 and older. I thought bond cards were used for more serious offenses such as driving drunk, ect. Thanks
Thanks Bonnie. So what does that mean for the insurance company, and how will he get the card back? Is the insurance company only alerted if this sticks to his record? If he does probation or some type of traffic school, what happens?

Administrator answers:

INSTEAD OF GIVING THE POLICE OFFIECER YOUR LICENSE TO KEEP YOU GIVE THEM THE BOND CARD.INSTEAD AND KEEP YOUR LICENSE ON YOU.

Maria asks…

What is the purpose of a traffic bond card when you’ve been stopped and ticketed for speeding?

I’ve never had to use one before, but I’m asking this question on behalf of a friend. If someone were stopped due to speeding(15-20 miles over limit), and they offered the police man their traffic bond card, what are the advantages and disadvanges? What is the card for? How will that affect their car insurance rates, if at all? And when will the card be returned? This is for someone 21 and older. Thanks
As mentioned, I’m asking for my friend. He doesn’t speak very good English, so he didn’t understand what the officer told him.

Administrator answers:

The bond card as issued by AAA, is your promise to appear for court or to answer the ticket (by paying it, appearing in court to contest it, or taking the drivers course and pleading no contest). If you fail to appear, the folks who put up the bond (AAA) will forfeit their money. Needless to say, AAA would probably not keep you as a customer after that! D:)

In the case of presenting a bond card, the officer may take or escort you to the police station to verify that the card is valid and that a legitimate bond can be presented in your name. So, you could still be delayed more because of the traffic stop.

I’m not certain that AAA still does this at all anymore.
